PEPPOL seminar for the financial sector in the Nordic area

by Enrique Vich created on 16/04/2012 06:35

The PEPPOL project teams from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark recently organized a seminar for the financial sector in the Nordic area. The seminar was held in Stockholm on the 10th of April, 2012. It was well-attended and the participants had the opportunity to listen to representatives from all the Nordic countries.

The focus of the day was on long term sustainability, strategies and plans for PEPPOL in the Nordic area.

The following presentations were held:

The seminar concentrated on the long term sustainability of the PEPPOL project. With the official end of the PEPPOL project as a part of the Large Scale Pilots (LSPs) of the European Commission this year, a long term sustainability roadmap has been agreed within the PEPPOL consortium. The Governing Board of PEPPOL recently decided to establish OpenPEPPOL which will be set up as a non-profit association.

The purpose of OpenPEPPOL is to increase eProcurement interoperability between European public bodies and economic operators. It will do this by:

  • Providing the authoritative point of reference for networks of interoperable, PEPPOL-compliant infrastructure and the organisations that use it.
  • Ensuring the long term sustainability of the PEPPOL infrastructure networks and user communities.
  • Ensuring the long term sustainability of the PEPPOL specifications, building blocks and related artefacts.
  • Promoting and supporting the ever-wider use of the PEPPOL specifications, building blocks and related artefacts.
